Highlights of the Democracy Day 2025

Reminds us of our duty to protect and uphold democratic ideals in governance and public life

The state-level programme at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru will feature a symbolic bike rally from all district headquarters and a mass reading of the Constitution of India's Preamble led by the Hon'ble Chief Minister, joined by over 1,000 school children and thousands across the state simultaneously.

To spread democratic awareness beyond the main venue, the celebration also includes state-wide competitions and public campaigns: painting contests by the Department of School Education and Literacy, photography contests by the Department of Higher Education, debate competitions by Karnataka Residential Educational Institutions Society (KREIS), and public Preamble readings in schools, colleges, and community spaces across all districts.

Together, these initiatives aim to transform democratic ideals into a living, participatory experience for people across Karnataka.

The Government of Karnataka is set to celebrate the International Day of Democracy on 15th September 2025, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to constitutional values and civic responsibility.

Guided by the theme "My Vote, My Right", this year's celebration highlights the power of every citizen—especially youth—in shaping a vibrant democracy. The event will bring together students, civil society, and dignitaries at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru for a symbolic mass reading of the Constitution of India's Preamble.

Through bike rallies, creative competitions, and public campaigns, the celebration aims to transform democratic ideals into a living, participatory experience for people across the state.

The Government of Karnataka extends a warm invitation to students, youth, workers, farmers, professionals, elders, and citizens from all walks of life to join this celebration and reaffirm our shared commitment to a vibrant, inclusive, and participatory democracy that reflects the true spirit of our Constitution.
